The island of Kauai, also known as the "Garden Isle", lies just northwest of Oahu. Geologically, Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands. The island is characterized by a scenic coastline and breathtaking valleys and canyons in the mountainous interior.

Among the many popular activities on Kauai are: hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, windsurfing, scuba diving, horseback riding, and golf. Raft and helicopter tours are also popular ways of exploring the island.
